Countries & Rivers starting with W - List

Some consumers actually look up the country they are traveling to or the destination they are going to by the first letter. In addition to number games, some families actually have something like an alphabet lottery. Ultimately, this means that the choice of holiday location or excursion destination is based on the random choice of a letter. If you chose the W, you have a very large selection of great holiday countries or excursion destinations that are, for example, on rivers. The letter W is quite far back in the alphabet and – if you go by the alphabet when choosing a vacation spot or the river you want to camp or fish near – is chosen quite late if you go by ABC, not by the random.

A very popular country with W, which is often chosen as a holiday destination, is Wales. This is a county (corresponds to a federal state) in Great Britain. Not a country but an island is Christmas Island. The island belongs to Australia and is located in the Indian Ocean. More specifically, only 350 kilometers from the island of Java and more than 2,600 kilometers from mainland Australia and the city of Perth. Rivers and lakes with W

If you prefer to stay in your home country of Germany, you can also use the W when you are looking for a vacation spot in Germany on a river or a lake. There are many places, for example, on the Werra, a right-east main source river of the Weser. The body of water flows through Thuringia, Hesse and Lower Saxony and is around 220 kilometers long. Another river is the Warnow, which is 155 kilometers long. The river runs through Mecklenburg-West Pomeraniaand also flows into the Baltic Sea on the territory of this federal state. The body of water can be navigated in places with canoes and paddle boats. And fishing is also possible on the Warnow. There are several waterway rest stops and campsites along the river. There are also lakes with a W, such as the Wannsee in Berlin, which serves as a local recreation area for the federal capital. The Weßlinger See in Weßling in the district of Starnberg in Bavaria is also very beautiful. Not too far away is Lake Wörthsee, formerly Aussee, located in the northern part of the district of Starnberg in Upper Bavaria and only 25 kilometers from Munich. Another lake in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is the Warnker See. The body of water is located south of Waren (Müritz) in the Mecklenburg Lake District district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The body of water is part of the Müritz National Park. The lake stretches from northeast to southwest. The lake is – almost completely surrounded by forest – very easily accessible in the national park.
