 LINDSEY GARDINER | Scotland, UK www.lindseygardiner.com Lindsey shares her life and her studio with her two Lhasa Apsos Lola and Yuki so it is perhaps unsurprising that her artwork is often of the canine variety. "This truly is a labour of love for me!", says Lindsey. "I am a Scottish artist who is predominantly known for my children’s books (many of which feature dogs) which are published all over the world. Some of my books are about my dog Lola who visits with me much to the joy of the children! I’m also a gallery artist and lecturer in textile design. Originally a textile designer I have returned to my love of screen printing and combined this with an unwavering love of dogs to create a quirky yet sophisticated range of hand screen printed bags, T-shirts and doggie shaped cushions under the label “quietly eccentric", states Lindsey. Her paintings vary from acrylic and mixed media on canvas to screen printed and painted plywood. She has the support of the “Dogs Trust” and “Battersea dogs home” in the UK who have asked her to design a bag for their 150th anniversary next year! |
